Series one could watch and rewatch for comfort

If socializing and outdoor physical activities are not up your alley, then I can strongly recommend the following sitcoms and series for binge watching indoors by your lonesome self. You are bound to fall in love with these fictional characters, their quirks, and their flaws. You will certainly relate to them, their personalities, their actions and reactions. Some may trigger your neurosis while others will feel like a warm hug. In the end, almost always, they are laugh-out-loud entertainment; the kind of levity and mirth that makes you forget unsavory thoughts and personal experiences, at least temporarily.

The list will be updated as and when I recall more series and sitcoms. Here we go...

The Golden Girls

Will and Grace

Community

Psych

Arrested Development

My Wife and Kids

Archer

Grounded for Life

Friends

Brooklyn 99

Castle

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Full House

Mike and Molly

Half and Half

Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place

Caroline in The City

Craig Ferguson interview compilations on TheJayLenoFly YouTube channel

P.S.  For now, I have listed only the titles but at a later time, I will be posting separate blogs for each series, mentioning favourite characters, best episodes, likes, dislikes, screenshots and so on.

Boring people's humour

I am quite boring among company.
However, with my own thoughts for company, never a dull moment

Friend - It's been long, let's catch up this weekend.
Me - Yes, that would be nice. I have to confess though, I become socially awkward and boring in such situations. *sheepish smile*
Friend - Yes, I am aware... I have met you once before.
Me - Dang! I thought I was being modest but people actually know I am quite pathetic. SMH

Me - Fiddling with my mobile.
Friend - Why pretend, it's not like anyone calls or messages you. *smirk*
Me - *Aloud* Sadly that is true. *In my mind* Happily, that's true.

Friend introducing me to new people - Meet her, never a bright moment with this one. *rolls eyes*
Me - *stutters* Hey-hi-ha-hullo *awkward handwave like a kid*

Irony

He was a lightman, part of a theatre group,
his job was to light up the stage,
every day during the rehearsals,
and every night during the live shows.
He shone light on the actors,
the protagonist, the antagonist,
the supporting characters, the props.
Every scene was dramatized, enhanced,
and lit up just right, by his light effects,
his maneuvers, and his quick thinking.
He had an important job he knew,
he was the dark figure in the shadows,
with light in his hands.
While the audience applauded, laughed, gasped, and cried,
inordinately moved by the performances of the actors in the limelight,
his tears, his laughter, his sacrifices, and his pain never saw the light.
Ironic!

Moi FB quips and jokes 2018

GIFcastic - a new term that I coined. It's when someone uses GIFs to be sarcastic.

As long as there is power struggle, even on a small scale, no good intention can come to fruition. Tragic really.
"Be the change you wish to see in this world." Yeah, right! Our reality is this - We shall participate in small-scale power play while heaping criticism on the large-scale power struggle that is broadcast to the nation. 😒

100 shades, 100 rules
One me, one lifetime
Numbers not adding up 🤔

Age humour:
Me on the dance floor in a noisy and crowded pub - Man, I should have learnt sign language. It would have been handy right now. 😜

Sarcasm - Ask Chandler Bing 😁
One of the side-effects of doling out sarcasm always - you begin to wonder if it was a compliment 🤔 or was the other person being sarcastic as well 😂

Difference between mosquitoes and vampires:
Mosquitoes find me attractive 😍, they just can't get enough of me, even with mosquito repellant. No fake modesty here, no sir.
P.S. - I know, lame 😅

Sherlock Holmes - "I am a high-functioning sociopath."
Me - "I am a high-functioning vegetable (on weekdays). On weekends, I am a basic non-functioning no-nutrient vegetable left to shrivel without refrigeration." 😛😝😂

One side-effect of not getting out often - laughing at my own lame jokes 😂😂

Alternative career choices:
- How about becoming a landlord?
- I don't have (even) a tombstone to my name let alone a building to let 😂

It's not the struggle that is disheartening but the lack of drive.

Does this make sense? 🤔 - It's not only about how you feel when spending time with someone but also how you feel once the meeting is over.

Yes, I'm that kinda fool who plugs in the charger but always fails to switch it on, and after half an hour realises what went wrong 💩

"You can't make everyone happy. You are not salted buttery popcorn." 😜

Bored humour:
Friend - Get a life dude! *rolls eyes*
Me - Still haven't figured out what to do with the one I have right now, what will I do with another. Tsk tsk.
Friend - *face palm*

Gossip humour:
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." So is starring in tall tales 😉

That moment when you recall a joke and smile to yourself... and the auto driver gives you a nervous look in the side mirror 😬

"Being a grudge holder makes you fat." - Cher, Mamma Mia 2
And here I thought it was all that takeout 😂

Foodie humour:
- What's your Friday night plans?
- Swiggy and Chill
- You mean Netflix and Chill?
- Nope. Swiggy and Chill. You know, binge eat the night away 😋

Attention seeker humour:
I'd rather be foremost in an enemy's mind than be an afterthought in a friend's. 😎

Life skills humour:
Interviewer - What type of skills and experience will you bring to the job and this firm?
Me - Passive aggressiveness, procrastination, dry humour, and self-pity, to name a few.
Interviewer - Um mm... Please elaborate.
Me - I can smell bullshit from a mile away, introspect like a SoB, zone out without much effort, and wear black 7 days a week.

Interviewer - 🙌 🙏
😶

Performance Appraisal Humour
Appraiser: What do you see in your future?
Appraisee: Uno momento por favor. (Takes out a Maritime telescope) Yup! I spy a nervous breakdown on the horizon. 🙊😹

Music is not only fun but also funny:
Every time a Webpage takes time to download and I am stuck looking at the blank screen for a long while, guess what song runs in my head?
🎶Say something I'm giving up on you...🎵

Anyone else read #earlybirdgetstheworm as early bridget is the worm?

Your tears don't make you weak. Never be ashamed of it. It is a natural way of expressing overwhelming emotions. Shame comes into question only when you use your tears to garner sympathy.

Explanations are in order I guess 🙄
Sweetheart,
I do not presume to understand the demons you battle, and you can never ever understand mine. The difference between us lies in that, that you require comrades to battle yours while I need to fight mine solo. Hence, the need for space.
Yours,
A recluse.
P. S - I fancy the term, 'lone wolf' 😂

Question - How to piss off a serious card player?
Answer - Shuffle the deck with the cards face up 🙃 🃏

Someone - You are going to hell!
Me - What!? I am from hell. I just visit earth from time to time on vacation breaks. 😂😈

Just watched a man eat grilled mackerel (fish) using chopsticks. I have never felt this helpless (about picking a fish clean off its bones), anxious (about swallowing stray bones with each bite), and impatient (about the slow consumption) while watching a video before. Dang! My palms are perspiring from anxiety. 😕

Power of books:
Buddy - How was your day?
Me - 90% reading on the neurotic and self-destruction meter, but hey, nothing a good book wouldn't cure, temporarily at least

Speaking the same language:
Potterhead - "How old are you?"
Me - "I knew him back when he was known as Tom Riddle."

So used to autorickshaw drivers demanding excess fare that when once in a while an auto driver accepts meter charge, I am overwhelmed by the need to thank him profusely, say a prayer for his family, and pay him more. Smh 😂😂

"I am me, the good, bad, ugly."

When you are painted
As the villain in stories
It becomes easier
With each story
To portray the monster
That you are thought to be

It is liberating
To be the real you
In your private time
And the perceived you
In the spectators' time
It shows your versatility
To be a weapon, or a shield

Spectators pay the price
In time you learn
To give them the show
That they want to see
When the curtain comes down
You are you, as peaceful as can be

A side note:

To the narrator, the spectators,

You want an angel, paint one
You want a demon, paint one
           The portrait you create
           Is what you see, forever
           The final decision lies
In the hands of the wielder

Misery loves company

Every time I try to climb out of the pit,
After a long and hard battle against my personal demons,
I think, "At last, I have succeeded."
Alas! Misery loves company, right!?
Like crabs in a bucket,
Pulled back in,
To rot in hell for another eternity.

Random BS Strikes Again

Random BS strikes again:
- I am baffled as to how random, untrue and ridiculous opinions about me are formed 🤔
- Listen child, *clears throat* when you've near and dear ones as your unauthorized PR liasons, is it any wonder that random opinions about you are floating around?🙃

Dark humour on people's need to give and seek validation:
Serial killer - I got the urge to kill again but somehow I stopped myself from killing today.
Psychologist - You are brave to have overcome the urge. There, there (pat pat)... you are a strong-willed person. Kudos to you for trying.

The season of capitalism is here. Kidding... Ho Ho Ho!
Every time a Secret Santa asks me, "What does my Chris Child like, what does my Chris Child want?", I am tempted to list a bunch of things that I like and pass it of as someone else's. Bwohohoho

Random BS strikes again:
- What do you mean by eggs fall under veg-food category?!
- Eggs don't bleed or have muscles/tissues, based on this logic, egg is veg.
- Outrageous! What about its potential to grow into a chicken with muscles and tissues that bleed? Doesn't that make it non-vegetarian? Also, when you consume an egg you're killing it's potential.
Later in the cafeteria to the caterer:
- Unbelievable! No egg gravy today also? Come on man!

No matter how hard we try to bury a thing of light, it's potential will outshine our efforts.

Random BS strikes again: (an old BS written during the infamous 'he said, she said' Bollywood saga)
How do you describe a twitter war? As a verbal fencing between two passive aggressive personalities 😂😂
Sample:
- What do you do when a person belittles 'someone' when in truth the barbs where aimed at you?
- 🤔 hmm... I take the mature route and post vaguely pointed status on social media. You know, because I'm an adult.

Random BS strikes again:
Before technology - Every day sounds be like chirp chirp of the birds, buzz buzz of the bees, rimjhim sirimiri of the rain, psithurism of the wind...
After technology - Every day sounds be like tweet tweet of incoming messages, buzz buzz of vibrating mobiles, beep beep of dying batteries, comic sound effects of Game Over...
P.S. Feel free to add to the above list

Random BS strikes again:
- I know the subject matter well enough to write it in my sleep.
- I think you did write it in your sleep. There are a lot of Zzzzs in the document, and the occasional snore.

Random BS strikes again:
That moment when you pay 250 bucks + GST for seafood pasta and get 1 prawn, 2 prawn, and a half of a tiny prawn amidst a small serving of macaroni 😤
I feel like Manjeet after witnessing Geet kiss Aditya and claim that they were By-The-Way friends

Random BS strikes again:
A month back on the weighing machine - 60.9 kgs
Now - 6.09 kgs
Woohoo 🎇🎆🎉 all that non-stop 'talk of dieting' for the past 30 days has worked.
Bystander - Ma'am you are facing the wrong way, you read the numbers upside down. Please don't jump on the weighing machine or you will be forcefully removed. Also, if I may suggest adding fish and spinach to your diet to boost your intelligence.

Random BS strikes again:
That moment when you are all set to bite into a perfectly made sandwich and an obnoxious person slams into you causing the sandwich to fall because they couldn't be bothered to look away from their mobile while walking in public space. Ah no, the 3-second rule doesn't apply in public space. Don't even risk it. Just trash the sandwich and hope a bird doesn't crap on the poor soul.

Random BS strikes again:
Thank you, please and sorry... Are these words taught in school or at home? Enquiring because I know few adults who need the education. Apparently, it's an outdated syllabus, you know, old school.

Random BS strikes again:
I fell victim to the Rs.199 scam in the kitchen and dining utility isles of the supermarket. Purchased many things that are not only unnecessary but also occupies a lot of space. Couldn't find an autorickshaw to drop me home given that the supermarket is only 1.5 km distance from my home. Unfortunately, I was burdened with laptop bag, handbag, and 3 Grocery bags containing breakables, perishables and of all things, a plastic bucket and stool. Understandably, after walking 300 mts, I just caved and asked a two-wheeler rider for lift till the end of the road (out of desperation, assuming that a bike is easier to escape from than a car if I am kidnapped). The woman who gave me lift was very sweet and understanding. #goodsamaritan #dontacceptliftfromstrangers

Random BS strikes again:
- Hey, remember yesterday when I was stranded in the rain and you gave me a lift?
- Yes.
- Um, hope you don't mind I threw you under the bus today.
- Not at all. That's perfectly alright, expected even. After all, 'No good deed goes unpunished.'

Random BS strikes again:
Don't worry about me not getting enough sleep. I got no kids, pets or even plants to deal with, except for an emotional roller-coaster ride to navigate

Random BS strikes again:
Heights of abandonment issues - You quit FB? How could you leave me alone on social media? Who will like and comment on my posts now?

Friend - Wanna meet up over the weekend?
Me - Lazy.
Friend - Fine, I will cook something you like, bring it over, you can eat in your bed, we can chat for 2 hours, and I will leave thinking you and I dressed up and met at a restaurant for lunch.

I just had a conversation with myself and found the joke 'I' shared so funny that 'I' laughed out loud 😂😂
Aww... Don't worry. In time, I'll get the help I need. Cuckoo. Bwahaha
The joke - "Another dark spot on my skin, sigh! What is it called? Old spot. Wait, that's not right. Age spot! That's right, age spot. Old spot is a beverage, isn't it. No, that's Old Monk. No, I mean the orange-coloured juice in a Pepsi bottle, an old popular beverage in the 90s. Ah, got it! That you fool is Gold Spot."

Some days suck, some days are fun, and some days are dull. We fight, we make up, we move on, and the cycle repeats. We have no choice but to go with flow.
I simply love this pic! My favorite night scene is chilling on the terrace with pleasant company.

Random BS strikes again!
Photography is a good hobby and an admirable skill. However, when photographers put their name on the picture in large font, it detracts from the subject. Much like Trump Towers.

Random BS strikes again!
How do you know who is your favorite?
Opportunist: Depends on what the person does for me.
Unsociable person: Depends on who annoys me the least at the moment.

Random BS strikes again!
A watched pot never boils.
Staring at your social media post won't increase the number of likes.

Random BS strikes again!
How do you know a sensible person from a moron?
Depends on whether he or she drinks beverage of any kind while watching gag reels/bloopers.

Heard of Monday Blues? Here's Saturday Truths!
Me: Watcha upto?
Friend: Just got outta shower.
Me: Ah shower. What is that?
